Overview
This circuit covers Srinagar's Dal Lake, the Gulmarg gondola, and the pine-forested valleys of Pahalgam and Sonmarg — the classic Kashmir route, without the rushed one-night stops that leave you spending more time packing than sightseeing.
You'll spend two nights on a houseboat on Dal Lake, then move base to Gulmarg and Pahalgam for day trips into the mountains. Private cab transfers throughout, so you're not waiting on shared vans between towns.
Ideal for first-time Kashmir visitors, couples, and families who want the well-known sights covered properly rather than skimmed.
Day-Wise Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrive Srinagar, houseboat check-in
Fly into Srinagar and transfer to your houseboat on Dal Lake. Evening at leisure — a shikara ride on the lake at sunset is worth the extra hour if you haven't booked one already.

- Day 2
Srinagar Mughal Gardens & local market
Visit Nishat Bagh and Shalimar Bagh in the morning, then a couple of hours at the Nishat Bagh floating market for saffron, dry fruits, and pashmina. Overnight on the houseboat.

- Day 3
Drive to Gulmarg, gondola ride
Drive roughly 1.5 hours to Gulmarg. The Gondola (Phase 1, cable car up to Kongdoori) is included; Phase 2 to Apharwat Peak is optional and weather-dependent. Overnight in Gulmarg.

- Day 4
Gulmarg to Pahalgam
Drive to Pahalgam (around 3.5 hours) via Srinagar. Evening free to walk along the Lidder River. Overnight in Pahalgam.

Pahalgam valley sightseeing
Visit Betaab Valley and Aru Valley by local shared cab (included) — the road beyond this point is restricted to registered vehicles. Overnight in Pahalgam.

Sonmarg day trip
Drive to Sonmarg for the day to see Thajiwas Glacier (pony or on foot, at your own cost), then return to Srinagar for the night.
