A high-altitude circuit through Leh, Nubra Valley (via Khardung La), and Pangong Lake — built with a mandatory acclimatization day in Leh before any high passes, which most rushed itineraries skip and shouldn't.
Best suited to travelers in reasonable health; altitude sickness is a real risk above 11,000 ft and this itinerary paces accordingly rather than promising it away.
Day-Wise Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrive Leh, acclimatization
Fly into Leh (11,500 ft) and rest for the day — no sightseeing is scheduled to help you acclimatize. Short walk to Leh Market in the evening if you're feeling fine.
Meals: Dinner
- Day 2
Leh local monasteries
Visit Shanti Stupa, Leh Palace, and Hemis Monastery. Still at a gentle pace to continue acclimatizing.
Meals: Breakfast, Dinner
- Day 3
Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardung La
Drive over Khardung La (one of the world's highest motorable passes) to Nubra Valley. Visit the sand dunes at Hunder, with an optional double-hump camel ride at extra cost.

- Day 4
Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake
Drive to Pangong Lake via Shyok route. The lake changes colour through the day — plan to arrive by early afternoon for the best light. Overnight in a camp near the lake.

Pangong Lake to Leh, departure
Drive back to Leh (around 5 hours) and transfer to the airport for your flight home.
